杯

(形声。从木,不声。本义:盛酒、茶或其他饮料的器皿)

同本义,也称“耳杯” [cup]

又如:茶杯;杯茗(茶杯与茶水);杯酒戈矛(比喻为一件小事大动干戈);杯杓(酒杯和杓子。借指饮酒)

[佛家语]∶舟船。晋僧有常乘木杯渡水者,人称杯渡和尚,后因以杯借指舟船 [boat]。如:杯渡(指僧人云游)

酒 [wine]。如:杯炙(酒菜);杯酌(酒杯)

比赛中发给胜利者的杯状奖品 [cup as a prize]。如:金杯;银杯

表示以杯量的量 [cup]

又如:一杯水;三杯酒

[remove from military position by means of cups of wine] 宋太祖解除将领兵权的事件。公元961年,太祖与赵普定策,召集禁军将领石守信、王审琦等宴饮,以高官厚禄为条件,解除兵权。969年,又用同样手段,罢王彦超等节度使,解除藩镇兵权,以加强中央集权的统治,防止分裂割据
